The Hensley family has requested that in lieu of flowers for Elyane, donations be made to the Garnett Church of Christ Student Scholarship Fund. Checks can be made out to Garnett with Student Scholarship Fund in the memo section. _______________

Please put Michael Merriott and his family on your prayer list. Michael is 2 ½ and received 2nd degree burns over much of his body in an accident at home. Michael’s mom is one of my clients. Robert Garland _______________

Four of our Garnett Church family members are going on mission trips this Spring. As always, we want to support those going on mission trips through donations from individuals who contribute to these trips. If you’d like to make donations to the funds, you can write checks payable to Garnett Church of Christ and put the person’s name in the memo.

Jo Morton is going with 1-2-3 International to Nicaragua to distribute worm medicines in villages along the Amazon River. She is leaving February 13. Jo has raised more than half of the funds but still needs $700 in order to make the trip.

Austin McIlroy is going to South Africa to join long-time friends of Garnett, Malvin Kivedo and Roger Dickson to do evangelism there in South Africa. Austin has covered his trip but is raising money for video cameras totaling $500. He is leaving February 11th. Follow Austin’s travels on his blog at http://lifeintechnicountry.blogspot.com/.

Lexi Johnson and Grant Grey are going to Ireland where they will reach out to people hungry for God and conversations about faith. Like Austin, they are using media to record and learn from the people they meet and will share these experiences with us when they return. They are leaving April 15th and will be gone for 6 weeks. Lexi has sent out letters detailing the trip, and she has copies of that if you’d like to know more about their trip. Lexi and Grant are each raising $4000 for their trip. Visit their blog at http://vivalaeurope.blogspot.com/ to follow their travels. __________________

Garnett Family, It has been decided that we will have a time of worship and fellowship tomorrow from 10am-11am. Classes, however, are cancelled. This worship time is for those that feel comfortable traveling. If you do not feel safe traveling, please do not feel compelled to attend. The parking lot is being cleared tonight along with a walkway to the building. If you would like to help out, we will need a few strong bodies around 7:30am to help finish salting and shoveling the walkway.

Pancake Pandemonium and Ministry Mosaic Rescheduled

January 29, 2010 by mailtopage

Oh, the weather outside is frightful (again). Therefore, in an effort to make the Pancake breakfast as “Pandemonious” as possible, as well as ensuring the attendance of the greatest percentage of our Mosaic pieces for our special day of highlighting ministries at Garnett, it has been decided to postpone the festivities for one week. Pancake Pandemonium and Ministry Mosaic will take place Sunday, February 7th. We regret the change, but feel it’s best in light of the situation. Kids: one more week of giddy anticipation! Again, the fun will begin at 8:30am in Phillips Hall on Sunday, February 7th.

At this point, no determination has been made regarding a cancellation of service this Sunday. We will continue to monitor the weather and will make a decision about that on Saturday. Should cancellation be decided, media announcements will be made as usual.

Blessings, Garnett Leadership Team

Thanks for Joining Us! Our church is beautifully broken, each of us part of a mosaic of Christ’s followers at Garnett.

A few things to know about our church: • We believe that we are all called to be the hands and feet of Jesus and each of us play a part in leading others into discipleship. Our worship is for God and to encourage one another along our journey. • We share communion every Sunday and you are welcome to share with us. Christ welcomes everyone to his table. • Faith, fun and learning are available for kids infant through 5th grade during worship. An usher or the welcome staff at the Coffee Bar can help you find the right classroom. • There is an area for nursing mothers near the Coffee Bar. • If you need assistance, please talk to an usher, Coffee Bar staff or ministry staff.

Next Steps What are the next steps to joining the journey of faith in Christ here at Garnett? Here are three next steps for you to choose from, and they range from dipping your toes in the water to jumping in. • Come back next Sunday. • Fill out the card below and check your interests or needs. • Come to an event listed in this bulletin that interests you, such as a Bible class or Wednesday meal.

A Welcome Place for All We want to glorify God in East Tulsa by being a hospitable open place for our community to gather. The Green Country Event Center is one of the ways we create a place for faith to grow in our community.
