“Bring a Psalm” Day Last week Greg Taylor called men and women in the church to bring psalms, prayers, hymns for our assembly today, according to I Corinthians14:26, Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:15-16. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:15-16, NIV)
So if you have been reading psalms or other Scriptures and believe the Spirit is leading you to share a particular reading or prayer with the church, you are encouraged to speak that today.
Please use the Bible as your guide and let your opinions and comments be few. Let the word speak loudest. May the Holy Spirit lead us today through the Word that is heard.
Children Betty Haynie has volunteered to be the new coordinator for Children’s Ministry teachers on Sundays. Betty would like for you to provide her with 3 reasons that you don’t want to teach children’s classes. If you don’t, Betty will be contacting you!
Greg Taylor will be leading a 15-minute meeting in Phillips Hall at 11:45 am after services today for all teachers, current teachers and those interested in helping with Children’s Ministry, to give an update on the program.

Praise Reports I would like to thank you for all the prayers and cards that I received at a time when things around me seemed to spiral downwards. My brother-in law passed away August 11. His final rites were the 20th. My sister, Cindy, is doing well and now has a lot of support from the rest of his family. We’ll pray that she has peace in her heart. Lois Stalcup
Thank you for all your prayers on Mom’s behalf. My Mom, Marcelline Dial, has been told that she is now infection free. And Sunday, August 22nd, they removed her catheter. She is still in Forest Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Now that she is infection free, she will have to wait six weeks before she can have her hip surgery. Chris W Dial
Prayer Requests Please pray that God guide the hands of the doctors to offer relief from RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy) or that God heal it totally. Please pray for finances to battle this–no money, no food, no mortgage. Lisa Hall
Please keep me in prayers because I am still struggling after losing my baby sister Elyane. I just need encouragement and guidance and strength to get through this all. Vanessa Hensley
