A few things to know about our church:

• We believe that we are all called to be the hands and feet of Jesus and each of us play a part in leading others into discipleship.  Our worship is for God and to encourage one another along our journey.
• We share communion every Sunday and you are welcome to share with us. Christ welcomes everyone to his table.
• Faith, fun and learning are available for kids infant through 5th grade during worship. An usher or the welcome staff at the Coffee Bar can help you find the right classroom.
• There is an area for nursing mothers near the Coffee Bar.
• If you need assistance, please talk to an usher, Coffee Bar staff or ministry staff.

A Welcome Place for All
We want to glorify God in East Tulsa by being a hospitable open place for our community to gather. The Green Country Event Center is one of the ways we create a place for faith to grow in our community.

The fun will begin at 8:30am in Phillips Hall on Sunday, February 7th when we’ll have pancakes. Just showing up and buying a plate of pancakes will help raise money for the new Cafe Mosaic coffee shop we have planned and will tell you more about Sunday!

Ministry Mosaic is a time of celebration and information sharing at Garnett Church of Christ where various ministry efforts are highlighted and stories are shared, all in an effort to define not only who we are in the body of Christ, but where we feel God is leading us as we forge ahead into 2010.

Schedule 8:30am – 9:45am – Pancake Pandemonium in Phillips Hall (Fundraiser for the start-up capital for Café Mosaic).

10 am – 11:30am – Praise and Worship Ministry Mosaic: Spotlight on the past, present and future ministry efforts of Garnett.

11:30am – 1 pm – Ministry Tables & Conversation in the Mall and Café Mosaic space.

(This will be a time of deeper conversations with the leaders and volunteers representing many of the diverse ministries at Garnett.)

This is an important year of rebuilding for Garnett. A big part of rebuilding is returning needed structure to ministries. A big day is planned for Garnett January 31, 2010. All our time together–from the class period to worship to fellowship time after worship–will be focused on featuring and equipping for ministries. How can you get ready for this day? If you are active in a ministry, ask the coordinator or leader of that ministry what is planned for the ministry. Why: To feature and equip ministries to serve Christ in their specific ways

You can come as you are, but God won’t let any of us stay just the way we are. He wants us to be transformed into his image.

So we’ll start the new year talking about the difference between New Year’s Resolutions and calling on God to change us from the inside out.

We try to meet every guest but not to pressure you excessively. Sure, we’re anxious to share the good things God does among us and to share the good news of Jesus with everyone who walks in our door, but we understand you come with your own unique story and place in life, and we want to meet you there and call you into the story of God as we have all been called there.

About a dozen will bring their “gifts to Jesus,” including song (vocal or instrumental), scripture-reading, story-telling, prayer, drama performance, dance.

We are also looking for those with the gift of baking to bring some treats to share. Sign up by email at garnettinfo@gmail.com. If you email, provide name, phone number, gift, estimated amount of time needed and any additional needs such as recorded music played.

Would you like to take a “Turf Tour” with us? This is a walking and bus tour around East Tulsa to see the places of darkness and call God’s light into those dark places. We’ll start at our church facility and see squats for homeless people in the area, discover more about the diversity in East Tulsa, and become more aware of the problems of drug and alcohol abuse with a visit to a Narcotics Anonymous meeting.

Sunday Zach Smith will be with us and you can expect to hear him speak in our Sunday worship at 10 am Sunday, December 13. We’ll also have students and adults speak who have visited Dry Bones Denver.
