A tutoring company is looking for some temporary, part-time help. They need someone to translate to Spanish-speaking parents at Briarglen Elementary. The following is from Sue Wells, the co-owner of the tutoring company:

“We are looking to hire someone for temporary, part-time work who speaks Spanish to help us communicate with parents.  Do you have any members who can translate for us?  If so, can you forward this email to them? We need someone on the 19th from 5-7 to go to the school with us.   We will pay $11 per hour with performance bonuses.  This person would need to be available on a weekend to go out in the neighborhood with Kurt and follow up with parents who will call us.  A background check is required for this position.”

Today is the Day! Ben Woodward is our guest from FriendSpeak, which is based out of Bedford, Texas. FriendSpeak is designed to bring new friends together, and through conversations of the Gospel, do two things for our neighbors whose native language is something other than English: improve English conversation skills, introduce the vocabulary of life–the words and life found in Jesus Christ.   EVERYONE is welcome to attend the training today FREE. Even if you haven’t signed up, come and find out if you’d like to get involved, stay for lunch and the afternoon seminar. EVERYONE is welcome to attend the whole seminar FREE if you cannot afford the suggested fee of $25. Lunch is provided and two more hours of training. This training is important for the launch of the ministry and everyone who wants to participate is expected to attend.

Childcare will be available for 9 am then for the afternoon as well. Kids eat free and childcare is free with your registration.    Reminder: IDENTITY We are commissioning your creativity (all formats encouraged) to help define who we are as a body. During this season of rebuilding, let’s define who we are and what our purpose is as a body. All submissions are welcome and we are extending the deadline to November 22. You may bring any artwork: drawings, paintings, music, sculpture, writing, photography, poetry, etc. You may also submit by email to garnettinfo@gmail.com. Questions? Garnett Kids’ Christmas Chorus The Garnett Kids’ Christmas Chorus includes 1st through 6th grades and will meet each Sunday during worship time, 10 am, in the Children’s Worship room. Ladies’ Ornament Exchange The Ladies’ Ornament Exchange will be December 13 following service. Sign up begins today, November 15, and the deadline is December 6. Lunch will be provided. Student Ministry $5 Autumn/Winter Project Garnett Student Ministry is sponsoring a project for 1-2-3 International (Victor Linscomb’s ministry) that will provide children of Nicaragua with a backpack, notebook, pencil and a bilingual Gospel of John. Prayer Requests and Announcements Some of my brothers and sisters have been praying for my mom for over two years. God gave her two additional years. At this time the tumors are growing rapidly. Her body is beginning to shut down. I ask that you pray that God comes and takes her home. Please pray for my dad–ask that he receives peace.
